About the Project

"Taste My Cake" is a bespoke mobile inventory and ordering ecosystem developed as a high-efficiency internal tool. The project's core mission was to digitize the gourmet cake ordering process, moving from manual tracking to a real-time, high-fidelity mobile interface. We transformed a complex product catalog into a streamlined, localized mobile application that bridges the gap between artisanal production and rapid corporate delivery cycles.

The Business Challenge

01 Real-Time Inventory Synchronization: With perishable goods, the risk of "over-selling" is high; the app requires a backend that updates stock levels instantly to prevent order friction.

02 Internal Utility vs. Consumer Aesthetics: While the app is for internal use, it still requires a high-quality "Consumer-Grade" UI to ensure that staff can identify products quickly through visual cues.

03 Network Reliability: As a tool used in fast-paced environments, the app needed to handle data synchronization across Java and Firebase while maintaining an offline-capable SQLite database for edge-case connectivity.

04 Logistics Automation: The challenge was to integrate delivery timelines and "Reserve" functionality into a single-view dashboard to shorten the internal sales and fulfillment cycle.

Strategic Roadmap

Mobile-First Architecture: We centered the entire UX around a "One-Handed Navigation" narrative, utilizing a dark-mode interface to make the vibrant product imagery pop and reduce eye strain for frequent users.

Data-Centric Logic: Implemented a robust "Three-Tier Storage" strategy (Java for logic, Firebase for real-time cloud sync, and SQLite for local caching) to ensure 99.9% uptime and data integrity.

"Frictionless" Ordering Funnel: Designed a strategic layout that places "Purchase" and "Reserve" CTAs in the thumb-zone for immediate action, paired with clear pricing and delivery indicators.

Internal Security Integration: Built the app as a "Closed-Loop" system, ensuring that proprietary product data and internal customer lists remain secure and inaccessible to the general public.
