"City Flyer" is a high-engagement mobile gaming application developed as a proof-of-concept for interactive UI/UX solutions. The project's core mission was to deliver a high-usability gaming experience that balances complex physics-based movement with a vibrant, intuitive design. We transformed a classic "flyer" mechanic into a sophisticated mobile platform that bridges the gap between casual gaming entertainment and high-performance technical execution.
The Business Challenge
01 Frame-Rate Stability: Gaming applications require consistent high-FPS (frames per second) to maintain immersion; the app required an optimized Java-based engine to prevent stutter during high-speed gameplay.
02 Interactive UI Balance: The challenge was to create a UI that is "Interactive" without being "Distractive," ensuring that game elements like scoring and menus don't interfere with the user's field of vision.
03 Data Persistence: High scores and user progress needed to be saved instantly to prevent data loss; the system utilized a combination of Firebase for cloud leaderboards and SQLite for local session storage.
04 Non-Public Internal Testing: As a proprietary tool for internal purpose, the application needed to be robust enough for stress-testing various interactive design theories before they were applied to client projects.
